Al-Shabaab intends to soon replace Al-Qaeda

In East and West Africa, the belligerence of the Muslims of Al-Shabaab and Jamaat al-Nusrat al-Islam -wol- under the aegis of Al-Qaeda has intensified at a time when Al-Qaeda has yet to name a new leader after the murder of its second leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Based on intelligence information from the Zahadan region on Iran’s eastern border, a security meeting was held in Sistan and Balochistan, the common border region of Pakistan, Iran and Iran. Afghanistan, August 13.

Academics from Afghanistan and Pakistan participated in the meeting. The meeting took place in connection with the successor of the former leader of Al-Qaeda, but the outcome of the meeting is not yet known. The Al-Qaeda group became more internationally known after attacks on US commercial buildings and the Department of Defense after 9/11, 2001, and the group’s activities died down and faded, when the founder and leader of this group, Osama bin Laden was killed by US special forces in Pakistan in 2011.

For a long time, when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban for the second time, this group rejuvenated its activities. AQ’s deceased leader, Dr. Zawahiri, had a plan to move the Taliban (Afghans) from South Asia to the Middle East for Jihad. Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the al-Qaeda group, was killed on July 31, 2022 in the Afghan capital, following a CIA MQ9-Reaper airstrike. Moreover, after July 31, Al-Qaeda remained in an uncertain position, but the jihadist organizations under the patronage of this group grew stronger and accelerated their activities in East and West Africa. If there is any delay or obstacle in the selection of a new leader for the Al-Qaeda group in such sensitive circumstances, the Al-Shabaab organization is ready to declare its government in East Africa as a strong jihadist organization separate from al-Qaeda under its leader Ahmad Omar.

In order to achieve this goal, Ahmed Omar arranged a secret meeting with the Somali government’s new religious affairs minister, Mukhtar Robo, at the common border between Somalia and Ethiopia, and Mukhtar Robo is also cooperating with al-Shabaab in the rise to government in Somalia, and participating in the new government in East Africa. Sheikh Mukhtar Robo is one of the founders and partners of the al-Shabaab group in Somalia and he was the group’s former deputy. Mukhtar Robo split from al-Shabaab over internal disputes with former al-Shabaab leader Ahmed Abdi Godan, who was killed in 2013 and surrendered to the Somali government in 2017.

In 2018, before being arrested by the Federal Government of Somalia, he ran for President of the South West Province of Somalia. However, after being under house arrest by the Somali government for three years, Robo was appointed Minister of Religious Affairs of Somalia on August 2, 2022, two days after the assassination of the second al-Qaeda leader, Ayman Al- Zawaheri.

Now Ahmad Omar, the leader of Al Qaeda in Somalia is trying to overthrow the Federal Government of Somalia with the help of Robo. If there is any delay or obstacle in the selection of the leader of the Al-Qaeda group, Ahmad Omar will declare Al-Shabaab as a separate and independent jihadist organization from the Al-Qaeda group, and the center of the new government of Al – Shabaab will be in East Africa. He will expand his group in the Middle East so that this organization will gain fame in the Middle East and appear as a substitute for Al-Qaeda.

In any case, after the death of the leader of al-Qaeda al-Zawahiri, from August 7 to 14, I report on the destructive objectives of the jihadist organizations under the aegis of al-Qaeda in African countries such as tip of the iceberg. On August 7, three Somali soldiers were injured and two were killed after al-Shabaab fighters attacked Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu. On August 8, Somali al-Shabaab rebels attacked Hoden’s headquarters in the capital Mogadishu, including the killing of Colonel Hassan Farahi, and Jelli, the deputy commander of the state militia in Wajar district, also killed in a battle with al-Shabaab fighters on the morning of August 8. There was a simultaneous battle by the al-Shabaab group over eight military bases in the town of Mandera in northeastern Kenya, and a number of these bases were selected for Kenyan elections. Al-Shabaab fighters also attacked the center of Ugandan forces, the capital Mogadishu and the towns of Janali. Another security unit from the Al-Shabaab movement killed a ballot box guard during Kenya’s ongoing elections near the capital. There were also attacks in Canton District, Garfarar District, Wajir County and North Eastern Kenya and 20 Kenyan soldiers were killed.

Furthermore, on August 7, 2022, a bloody attack was carried out by Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam Walmuslim in Mali between Kosala and Kouri on Malian soldiers, And besides this attack, the war in the Sikaso South region began with the destruction of an armored military vehicle and ended in the killing of five Malian soldiers. As a result of this war, five Kalashnikovs, 5 guns and 12 armored tanks were captured, and 432 people were captured alive.

On August 9, six parliament building security guards were killed by Al-Shabaab fighters in the Somali parliament building in the capital of Mogadishu. On August 9, a colonel from the Somali intelligence agency, named Muhammad Abbas Jars, was killed by al-Shabaab fighters at the Banadir junction. On August 11, 11 mortar shells were fired at a base of Ethiopian soldiers by al-Shabaab fighters in the town of Qanshadiri in southwestern Somalia, and as a result, 9 Ethiopian soldiers were killed. Four Somali soldiers were killed following attacks on two Somali army bases by al-Shabaab group in the towns of Badawa and Densoor.

On August 11, two Somali soldiers were killed in Shabelle province. August 12: Former Afjawi City Security Affairs Deputy Hussain Jibril and his two bodyguards were killed by al-Shabaab fighters in the southwest of the same city. In addition, Geno Muhammad Ibrahim, a member of the Somali government’s parliamentary electoral commission, was killed by the al-Shabaab movement in the Harawa district of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

The Al-Shabaab group has been ordered by the Sharia court to execute six American, Kenyan and Somali spies who were responsible for air operations under orders from US forces. On August 14, a military officer named Abdo was killed along with four soldiers due to an attack on the Somali army base by al-Shabaab group in the Yarkad area of Loq town in western Somalia.

Al-Shabaab is presumably a franchise of Al-Qaeda, which has dubbed jihadist terrorist enterprises under the auspices of Al-Qaeda across the African continent supposedly declaring independence from Al-Qaeda, while behaving as a group imminent jihadist terrorist on a global scale.

The rise of Al-Shabaab on the international geopolitical scene will deal a major blow to counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence agencies on a global level.
